Town of Ashland, College Park Neighborhood Pervious Paver Project

A construction project by the Town of Ashland, VA in the College Park neighborhood of Randolph Macon College was completed during the summer of 2013.  The company, Pave Drain, created pervious pavers for a low impact design (LID) project completed by the construction group Talley & Armstrong. The project also included a bio-retention facility, a retention garden, as well as a storm sewer system, plus curb, gutter and sidewalks were installed on one side of the street. The elevation of the roads was lowered to improve yard drainage in areas of moderate flooding and standing water. As a result of the LID, stormwater runoff was detained thus reducing pollutants entering the surface waters of the Chesapeake Bay.
